It would seem that when someone did up their exhaust manifold (after unnecessarily undoing it to fit the wrong starter motor) they either neglected to put the bolts back on or didn't tighten them enough so they fell off.

Either way, the fourth outlet on my manifold turns out to be unconnected to the engine in any way shape or form.

Can I get the necessary bolts anywhere?

Isn't the usual trick to cut them down in length so that you can get the exhaust on and off easier?

I'm not about to start messing about and cutting them down - besides, it's not like they're three feet long!

Anyway, new studs and bolts arrived today so I'm just waiting for the exhaust to cool down (and, perhaps, the rain to ease off...)
