Can anyone please identify these bits?

I was having a rummage through the stuff that the previous owner of Katie gifted me earlier and came across a couple of bits that I couldn't identify.

Namely this:



A rubber thing with a brass collar

and this:



A screwy-in thing with some kind of electrical connector.


Can anyone enlighten me as to their purpose?

Water temp sender that fits the water rail on a k series or can be used in Appollo tank or DS bell housing for the oil temp. Other item is a new dust cover for top ball joint
