Should work well for the commute! Needs a few things tidying but should be good and certainly more depreciation resistant than my normal cars..

Good decision, I fancy they are a little underated, I'm sure you will have a lot of fun. I expect you have already joined the Lotus Seven Club and got onto Blatchat, have you discovered the CSR Owner discussion forum yet? Lots of useful advice and knowledge on both.

Just looking at joining the club, where is the CSR section as I haven't found it yet. Or is that just as a member?

Have you got a link (url) to the car, otherwise we don't know which car it is?

I had a good look at CSRs last month (inc the one you've bought) then decided to go cheaper for my first Caterham to see how I got on (ended up with a 2003 SV Roadsport 1.8 vvc). Looks like a smashing motor your 260. Congratulations biggrin.

I nearly looked at the SV, was it the Blue one? The CSR I've bought will need a fair bit of tidying up but will end up mint when I've finished.

Still haven't got it yet will be end next week hopefully!!

Will post pics.

At that mileage and as it is similar in age and mileage to my CSR, make sure that you check:

Tops of the rear dampers as they can weld themselves to the bolt. They creak a lot if they are on the way out.
Play in the rear wheel bearings
Welds where the manifold attaches to the block.

None are major items to worry about , but worth checking while it is Caterham's problem.

Brett will know what to look for.

James here:

Should pic up at the weekend and will post photos etc. I'm now member of the CSR forum so will be checking out all the areas while there is still a Caterham "warranty" on it...

Cheers
