Ride height adjustment / sump protection

Hello all,

I have a 1999 Sprint with a Vauxhall 1800 8v. The clearance below the sump is under 3" and hates any form of speed bump and the likes. I have Billsteins all round and they are adjustable. I am just a fairly sedate driver (well the speed limit is so much fun in a Seven and I feel like I am really moving along) and do not track the car. Should I crank it up a little? Any other sump protection without sacrificing too much clearance please?

clearance is the way ,putting a guard under the sump will make you prob worse ,would be tempted to put it up half an inch all round

I sometimes need to negotiate unmade Spanish roads. I changed my 185/60 13" tyres for 70-profile Kumho Ecstas like my old live-axle car had. These give about 15mm extra ground clearance and reduce the revs a bit on motorways. And, although my car must accelerate slightly slower because of the tyre circumference, it actually hits 60mpg in a shorter time because I don't have to change into 3rd. AND I never ground the sump now!
