That's EU1, like my old engine. Swapping to 1800 is straightforward and quite a few people have done it. Only significant difference I remember is the crank sensor pattern on the flywheel which needs to match the ECU (MEMS on a K). Standard answer to that is to retain the flywheel from your old engine (it's a straight swap) if you don't have the ECU with the new engine. Things will be a little more complicated if it's a VVC engine (I think they were used in some R300s) I suspect you'd definitely need the ECU (or replace it with an Emerald). The engine mounts are different for a VVC too, to lower the engine slightly.
unfortunately the engine i was after has been sold.so thats a no go now!
im on the lookout for a 1.8 k series motor with ecu if anyone knows anything, but im unsure which one to go for?
there seems to be so many different types. is it worth going for a vvc with ecu, and new caterham engine mounts?
or roller barrel 1.8k? cheers
