As above really. I've run both on the R400 and I can't really tell any difference in power. If anything, it runs smoother with the cat fitted. My main reason for using the by-pass pipe was to prevent damage to the cat as the car is mostly used on track and it can get VERY hot. But maybe peace of mind at MOT time is not worth the £300+.

I bought my baypass pipe to save the cat, before I realised it was the same price as a new cat !We live and learn..
