Question for the King of Polish MickRick!

Have some corosion underneath the paint of my Caterham as she has been standing outside for a couple of years without any weather protection. Took the car home from the shop now and I was wondering if I could simply take of all the paint of the skin and polish the car to maximum blingbling?
This would at least let me be able to drive around for one or two more years before a complete reskin.
Because I'm now fixing all the technical bits (including a new Duratec engine) I'm not feeling like doing a reskin / paintjob at the same time. My wife would probably kill me...
If anyone else knows the answer and if 'yes', what I would need to do that myself, feel free to answer.
It's just that I think there is only one man on this forum with real blingbling knowledge!

Hello Allen, if it's blistered the paint, I'd bet a fish supper that when you take the paint back you'll find some holes. If not some pretty deep corrosion that won't polish out.
As Steve says, a hell of a lot of work! I'd be inclined to bog it and touch up the paint untill you can get it re-skinned.
If it hasn't gone into holes, get the coroded bits soda blasted, then etch prime first.
If you want the best, take it to Geoff Moss for a re-skin

Unless it's a stone chip, it's usualy bubbled through from behind, so there'll probably be some rust on the chassis tubes behind the aluminium too.
