Afternoon all,

I recently acquired a rather nice R300 that had an open diff but came with a brad new boxed Quaiffe ATB which I immediately had fitted at Caterham Cars.

With the bad weather I had only had chance to put about 30 miles on her in the last month but today had a good blat. When I came home I turned the engine off and pushed her into the garage as it's a tight fit, and there is a clicking noise coming from back axle. Not horrendously loud but it's there nonetheless. The car seems to move freely enough backwards and forwards when I push her but there is a definite mechanical clicking...! Can only assume it's something to do with the diff instal - any ideas..??!

Cheers, 240

Quite normal! It's the rollers dropping in their carrier as the axle rotates. At normal road speeds, or under load, it doesn't happen.

Thanks - I took it out again today and the diff is certainly no noisier, so that makes sense.

Have another issue now - see other thread..!

Thanks again.
