I have no connection with the seller or car but going through the classifieds just now, this looks a cracker. Think it's been sold once before. Sure it will make some lucky person very happy, and miss out on the build queue with what is essentially a new car...

Hmm, sold before...with that mileage??? although there seem to be quite a few cars for sale recently bought with good intentions (or even built) that get sold on quite quickly - reminds me of "a dog is for life, not just for Christmas"...

Have seen it in the flesh and it is indeed a cracker, no connection apart from having bought something else from the vendor. He is a fastidious chap and is only selling to go to an SV as he is a big chap and finds this gives him a cramp in left leg on longer journeys.

Highly recommend a viewing if you are after a Supersport.

"Sold before" Yes it does say one previous owner, WHY have 2 owners got rid within 1000 miles, something seems a miss or maybe it really is a genuine sale and a good buy for someone. It is gorgeous, I've been drooling over it for a few weeks, big saving on a new one, lots of extras on it...

From memory (BlatChat etc), I believe the first owner sold it because he needed the funds to help buy a house or something. I'd seriously doubt something is amiss. I'd go for it. You know it makes sense! Aeroscreened 140bhp Supersport is just the perfect spec, in my humble opinion. I'm not a Caterham owner but I've driven lots. The Supersport and the Duratec R400 are the two models that just feel inherently right - more so than the much-praised R300. In fact, out of the SS and R400 I'd say the SS is the better of the two for the road because its just with you all the time. It feels like everything is judged *exactly* right and there's a kind of precision about it that the Duratec cars I've driven don't have. Oh and do not change the aeroscreen for a windscreen!

Trouble is Tim, I also want an SV, would be perfect otherwise Good to hear what you say about the SuperSports. I visited the Caterham showroom today asking about starter kits versus knockdown kits as I would like different wheels to the little 13 jobs on a Supersport and other bits but the salesman probably rightly said I was making it into a Roadsport/Classic with minilites, etc, better to keep it looking like a Supersport and get the benefit from the better handling wheel tyre combination of the Supersport, he said put 15" rims on if you think the 13" look too small for the rear wheel arch. It will cost me 28K to get it to the spec I want and I am struggling with what little you get in a Caterham for that much dosh. You can get a lot more car or cars for that money. This one in the advert definitely seems worth it though, I am so surprised it hasn't sold. The cars at Caterham seem to be shifting quite nicely and people pay a hell of a premium for them. The one in the advert would be at least 4K more I should think through them...

Agreed, you can get a lot more car for your money. You can buy a car with great performance, comfort, usability, practicality and so on - even exclusivity - but you will struggle to find a car that is as much fun or is as involving. It may sound a little corny and again it's just my opinion, but on the right day on the right road in the right mood, driving one of these machines is nothing short of a spiritual experience. There was a biker on here a couple of years back that said that he always felt that with quick bikes. For the sense of purity and connectedness there really is nothing finer than a 7.

The Supersport is an epic piece of kit I've owned mine the orange and white press car for a over year now and just can't get enough of it and is by far one of the most smile inducing Caterham drives there is,I've owned sevens for 7 years and driven most of the variants but must agree that the Supersport tops all of them I even had the R300 courtesy car recently while mine was being serviced, it is a good car but no where near as good as the Supersport, was interesting comparing the two, there is just something about the Sigma in the Supersport state of tune that just leaves you brooding for more the precision and lightness of the throttle coupled with the noise this car makes is mesmerising. The duratecs can feel a bit sledge hammer by comparison... As for the car for Sale what a bargain and what a car...go for it!!!

And I have just said to my wife before switching on the computer I will spend half the budget and squeeze into an older crossflow! Thanks for the feedback, the Supersport is the one to get then.

LOVE your orange CA07 RAM, I have the picture of it pinned up in front of me. The orange/black with white stripes looks just right to me... I would love to see one with those colours in the flesh... One will come into the showroom at some point. I have to sell my yacht first so have time to window shop.

Buy an original Superlight, it's the single model that has the perfect balance of spec/power/cost and will suffer virtually zero depreciation. An upgrade to throttle bodies will give it R300 performance which is plenty.

Not that I am biased at all but I do agree - has a narrower rear tyre than the R300 thich does help the feeling of balance. I have driven a R300K extensively but found the standard Superlight slightly closer to perfection.

It's just gone up by 2K, quite rightly so I think, it was too cheap at 22.5K. Brings it more inline with the other examples advertised.
