Caterham Cars will celebrate 40 years of manufacturing and developing the iconic Seven with a free limited edition pack.

The stylish pack is available to the purchasers of the first 40 Seven orders taken from today and can be applied to any car in the Seven range.*

Caterham Cars has been building the Seven since 1973, when original owner, Graham Nearn, acquired the rights to the model from Colin Chapman. It has continually developed the sportscar but never deviated from Chapman’s original philosophy of “adding lightness” and placing the driving experience at the heart of the engineering process.

Available to buyers from the UK or any of Caterham’s export markets at no cost, the pack has been designed to evoke the nostalgia of the early Sevens and includes optional equipment which would typically cost thousands of pounds.

The limited edition ‘40 Years of Caterham’ pack includes:

Grey painted chassis, replicating the original Lotus Seven colour
Ruby red ‘40YOC’ paint, with bespoke bonnet stripes
Hand-tailored leather seats, with grey piping
Grey leather dashboard

Bespoke tunnel top, with grey handbrake and gearstick gaiters
Unique, numbered dash plaque
New 15” silver alloy wheels**, with Caterham embossing and Avon ZV3 tyres
‘40YOC’ wheel centres and ignition key
Caterham’s current UK range of Sevens stretches from the Roadsport 125 at £19,995 to the top-of-the-range Superlight R500, priced at £42,495. Meanwhile, across mainland Europe, Caterham has just introduced its most powerful variant yet, the Seven 485.

• Some specification issues may arise from the application of the pack, meaning that some elements may not be suitable eg new R500s will not come with grey leather dash or new alloys but would be fitted with the rest of the offered elements; no cash alternative is available for any pack element that cannot be applied; purchasers may not ‘pick and mix’ elements of the 40YOC pack; limited edition pack available only on new orders – any order already taken will not be eligible.

• The new 15” alloy wheels are only available on UK supplied Vehicles. EU vehicles will get similar silver 15” alloys but without 40 YOC details embossed.

I'd turn the offer of that special edition down if I was ordering.
I'm not keen on the stripes, the grey dash and trim changes aren't an improvement and you've only one colour choice.
Oh and they insist on fitting 15 inch wheels.

This does not make any sense other than the re-branding of the Lotus 7 and trying to re-write history, the 40th Anniversary of the 7 was 1997 and Caterham have one for sale in their own showroom and to be honest it looks much more stylish

Caterham 'DNA' which is a much overused term doesn't really exist as it is Lotus DNA aka the 7 its the spin doctors trying to re-invent the past.

I love the Caterham 7 but I dislike the current branding and distancing of its true past
