Being a long term Kumho fan, due to width for rears, i have never ventured away. The ZZR get good reviews for dry if not for wet, whats the general consensus, as well as the damage for a set?

The best tyre I've tried so far (and to be honest I've not tried that many). It's good in both dry and damp conditions but needs care in standing water. Performance remains relatively constant over the life of the tyre but those first 50 laps will be your best.

Wear rates are very good using the A60 compound - probably twice the life of the CR500 on track. They also cost less than the CR500 but still quite pricey compared to some track tyres.

I agree with DCL. The ZZR is an excellent tyre. Loads more grip than CR500s in the dry. Need proper geo set up to get the best from them. I found the rate of wear a little higher than CR500s, but not unacceptable. Have driven them on road and track in all conditions. No problems although I am more cautious in very wet conditions and avoid standing water (I limit myself to 70 mph on the Mway in heavy rain). Cost wise - a little cheaper than CR500s, but not much in it. I am a convert.

OK thats great thanks for the input, i have never bought a set of CR's as only used R888, other than V70. What actual cash price approx are we looking at, does anyone know of a tyre place other than caterham to get them?

Phone Avon Motorsport (direct)
Mate had them on his road use only caterham and changed to cr500s as he found the zzrs a bit twitchy in the wet-- and they do tram easy on the road.

Re where to buy - I've only ever sourced from Caterham. I tried to shop around, but couldn't find an alternative supplier. If anyone comes up with a location for better prices, please let me know!
