New Caterham announced!

It's been a while since I've taken a keen interest in Caterham goings-on, but is this simply to say that Caterham have AT LAST realised that every man and his dog was putting the duratec engine in their cars, and now they've thought to themselves "oooo, let's put a duratec in the car".
I had an experience with Caterham a year ago, tried to buy the equivalent of an R500 chassis to put a 2.3 duratec in ..... it proved so difficult, so time consuming, in the end I gave up and started looking for a Cerbera.
Sorry - didn't want to remove this thread from the intention . All my problems with them aside, it will be a FABULOUS car!!!!

Two days after receiving my R400 I got a letter from the salesman telling me about this.
If I tried this in my game I'd be upto my neck in court claims for compensation.
Still, I shall delude myself with the notion that trying to in any way civilise the SLRs is a pointless development.
Still, I feel a small dose of B.Fawlty, post arrest scene of 'Lord Melbury' as said imposter is being led away by special branch, said Baswell stood aghast, frustrated atop his hotel's main entrance steps, arms flailing & fists clenched in the usual manner:

I'm willing to bet it'll provide more than enough driving pleasure and sufficient a challenge for a few years yet....
I doubt its missing anything , to me it just seems underhand in a way to bring out what seems a quite radicle upgrade with out at least offering the option to a punter whos delivery is so close to the launch of the new thing , but then its sods law if you buy a 5mg digi camera for 300 quid today tomorow you will be able to buy a 104mg camera thats smaller better and costs 35 squid
Tony - they got a great deal from PTP for the K engine and did review the Duratec before they signed the deal (Minister tried to hide a development chassis in the corner when we visited them last year).
DeR - it's been an open secret for ages - you should have kept your eye out on Blatchat. In any case, the R400 will deliver a totally different experience to a Duratec I reckon and will not disappoint you.
