Following on from my sfs post......

Right guys, can any kseries or vvc guys confirm that this is wrong.

Where the throttle cable is attached to the lever?
I was right :-) the cable when on full throttle jumps off its runner and snags behind the brass bracket behing leaving the throttle open when off the happy peddle. I have just got it to do it with the engine off and me opening the valve by hand.
I see there is another opening for the cable end (ball/cylinder connection) on the bottom right off the lever. I ain't no mechanic but if it was attached here this snagging could not happen. This leads me to believe that it is not fitted right?

Thoughts welcome.

The picture is upside down so the other connection I'm talking about is top left of picture not bottom right.

Thanks

The cable is fitted correctly to the quadrant, the lug that snags the cable looks wrong to me, I will check on another TB. The throttle retur spring should keep the cable taut at all times if it is adjusted properly,

Much appreciated Dave, there is no rush as its going back for what he says is a lifter causing a top end knock at 3.2k rpm onwards. Its not massive but it did not use to be there so he is having it back.

Thanks again

One of the 'k' variants Had a problem with the quadrant fouling the pedal box cover and the Caterham mod was to trim off the outer half of the unused cable position.

Yep. The peddle box is not more than 3 mm away from it at that's a conservative figure its probably more like 1-2 mm.

Carve off the outer part of the quadrant and I suspect your problem will disappear.
