Removing tillets
Discussion
Seems like a stupid question but I'm going to ask it anyway...
How do you remove the tillets? Can you position the lever on the seat to pop it off the rails or is it a case of removing the 4 nuts/bolts fixing the rail subframe to the floor?
Got something stuck under the seat and cannot get to it!

oh the pain of this. I had a problem that the seat on the runners was stiff such that I could not move it fully forward or back. What you need to do is get seat fully back/forward (brute force & wd40) then jam a screwdriver between the nut and the runner to stop it spinning. Then get a kind soul (or do it yourself if you have long arms) to undo the nut below car. Makes it harder as it moves about vertically as well
Its incredibly frustrating and I took onboard someones suggestion and took the rails to a garage where they welded them effectively creating captive nuts. Cost me £5 and well worth it.

Great info thanks.
It did look like I'd have to remove the nuts but hoped I wouldn't. No big deal and good tip for getting the nuts welded to the rails.
Will do the passenger side first I think just in case I hit any issues. Need to relocate the fire extinguisher from the foot well to the boot anyway.
Cheers

Be careful not to over tighten when you refit the seats as the alloy rivnuts strip easily.
What alloy rivnuts arnie ?Ive simply tacked the bolts into the rails with a blob of weld , so you simply have to fit through the holes in the floor and mount with nuts and large repair washer from underneath
