The car finally showed up on Wednesday and as such, I now feel like a pig in s
t 
For those that are interested in such things, I intend to keep a build diary as I go in the hope that it might help out a few others. I've already spent a few hours on the front suspension and steering rack (not on the blog yet) and already I've found a few 'interesting' pointers that are probably worth sharing.

I had the wife's TT in the garage the previous weekend (absolutely no room with that in there) so I could change the Haldex gearbox oil. They were great for that job but I needed the full width in that instance so suppose I better leave them alone.
Fortunately If you do hit it, the car just moves a little on its wheels so no biggy really.
The first evening has been added to the blog if anyone is interested in reading a little more.

It depends how hard core you want the setup really i think. The setup for road use is pretty much spot on with the SuperSport R I think. The 5 speed box is actually better for a road setup in my opinion. The Duratec is quite torquey so really doesn't need the close ratios of the 6 speed.Glyn
In the end it's not hard to take the standard Duratec in the supersport and up the power slightly to get to r400 levels of power when the time inevitably comes
I went for the standard leather seats in the end. I plan to spend more time on the road than anything so went with the softer option. I also tried a car whilst down at Caterham that had the posh new leather seats that they've come out with (£1,000 on the options list - ouch). I couldn't tell the difference personally

Work on other cars in the household but I'm no expert. I think it's like most things in life, just give it your all and you get there in the end.
The hardest bit really isn't so much the mechanics. If you are any good at ikea furniture you'll be fine for sure. It's more that the assembly guide is vague in places and you spend half your time trying to find the bits you are trying to fit. The actual physical act of installing parts isn't all that tricky (or so it seems so far anyway).
