are the 1600 vx engines in the academy caterhams tuned in any way, ie head work, cam etc or are they as vauxhall built them. thanks

No they are pretty much standard, other than stuff to make them fit in a Caterham. I have to say it is my least favourite engine of any Caterham I have driven, but they are fairly cheap.

The cylinder heads were decked to increase the compression ratio to 10:1 and some light modification was made to the inlet ports to match them to the Weber inlet manifold. They are otherwise standard.
