Okay

I have got the 1.4 supersport with a 1.8 engine to fire up, but it runs like a bag of nails. Which is to be expected as that’s what the car was sold as. So i am working my way through trying to find the problem in a country where a set of plugs is 60quid and takes 2 weeks to arrive, hence a bit of shopping around and it takes time to get bits.

So to try and get things running I have a few questions for the K series Guru(s)

As the car is a 1994 and there is no cat or lamda is this a mems 1.6 ECU?

I have acquired a caterham 1.8 ecu mems 1.9 (immobiliser delete) to see if it was an ecu problem but the engine will not fire with this ecu, is the wiring different between the early and later ecu's.

The other option I have is an aftermarket ecu from another project, but it only takes the Elise spec crank trigger which I understand is a 4 gap wheel and the stock caterham is a 2 gap wheel. Is the a 4 gap fly wheel that fits the caterham bell housing and clutch.

I know it's sound daft, but are the plug leads on the correct cylinders.
The one I saw had one coil for each two plug leads, the two leads don't plug in to adjacent cylinders.

It is a bit older than that, single coil and dizzy

It is a MEMs 1.3 I expect. The crank trigger pattern is different and it has discrete lines for each injector, the 1.9 runs grouped injection so only two of the injectors would fire even if the cank trigger pattern were correct...

Do you know the 1.3 trigger pattern.
