Just wondering what the easiest and cheapest way is to squeeze more BHP of out of a 125BHP 1.6K series engine.

I already have forged pistons, uprated pistonheads and rods. It's also a 6 speed.

I can't exceed 140BHP so any improvements taking it to somewhere near there would be great.

Cheers

633 cams are a useful upgrade, but you must make sure that they are correctly timed or your idle will go to hell in a hand basket and the torque delivery will be patchy. There are several profiles you can choose..

1369 profile. - mild
BP270 - intermediate
633 - hotter
1320 - hotter still

The description is relevant for an otherwise standard engine running on the stock ECU. Anything hotter than the 1320 will not make a happy engine and will probably cause the springs to go coil bound.

On some heads the lobes of the 633 and 1320 may foul the tops of the follower bores, so ensure the cams will rotate freely with the followers removed before fitting.
