Has anyone heard of any problems with the 13 in Barnby wheels. I was told a while back that they had been known to break up under extreme pressure brought on by racing or really enjoying yourself. Personally I've never had any problems unless I'm not trying hard enough though I did bend one at Oulton ,but maybe the Armco contributed to that
I ordered a set last year, they have been on the car ever since, other than they took Mike Barmby an awfull long time to make, I have had no broblems with cracking so far, swopping for slicks on track days and road tyres the others, they have been fine, also there really light snd look great on the car.

Not sure that the type of cracks that the process looks for can be detected by the naked eye...Talking to Mike before on this when I was getting my wheels, he believed there was a faulty batch of mag centres and one failed under racing conditions. He says he has not encountered any others failing to date.
I understand he did beef up the spoke diameter at some point but not sure if this was in response to any pressure from Caterham. He doesn't believe there is any issue with the design or manufacture and certainly for (my) road use I have no probs with it.
As long as you keep in contact with him I have never found him to be unnecessarily slow but yes you must have patience. but it's worth it. best looking wheels on a Seven in my book.

As Rubystone says, not cracks you would see with the eye, the process involves injecting a dye and checking under UV light.

Best colour though Yep gold is the way forward and I think I need re-do mine to a more 'straw gold' colour like yours. Sometimes, in certain light, I think mine looks like the colour of 'morning p*ss. But then other times it is outstanding.
