Webber Set up

Morning

Having bought my VX powered Caterham in November and had it serviced I am still having problems with the carbs.

Does anyone know of any really good people for tuning Webbers in the Marlow area. The car is rubbing more aggressive cams, which was all done by a well known tuner about 10 years ago, but it flutters considerably at around 3,500 revs and often stalls on a trailing throttle

Charles does a lot of work on Cobra's, Ultima's, GT40's, etc - many of which are running on Webers.

James- I run a hpc on carbs that's got uprated cams-- do you know what jets etc you are running-- presume weber 45s -152

James- I had a flat-spot like you discrible-- I will give you the old settings and the new that are miles better- (literally lol)

Main 165. Main 155

Chokes 40. Chokes 38

Thanks again Johnny. I checked though the paperwork and the car was re-jetted 2 years ago on a RR.

I think I need to take it to a good engine man who understands the black art of carbs.

James- if you just look at the pump jet in your car- that will give you a clue too whether the car was set up for max power (bhp) or drivability (road-use). If it's a large pump jet then it's for max fuel (track rather than road)
