So after much deliberation I finally ended up buying this little beauty:
http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/c...

Been waiting about 14 years for this moment so I'm just a little bit excited [:E]

I have a technical question for when I pick it up though. The pedals are currently set at the furthest setting and, although I was able to drive it with the seat forward, it was a bit of a stretch. I have done some reading on the topic of pedal adjustment and it seems as though moving the pedals between the 3 standard positions is relatively straight forward. I was wondering if it is something I can do at the owner's house before driving it back? How long roughly might it take? Would I need to make further 'fiddly' adjustments to the cables? The owner has never had to do this either so it would be new to both of us.

Or am I better off just doing it at home in case we encounter any problems?

The pedals are easy enough to adjust - but it's hard to get the settings right if you've never done it before.

I ended up getting mine setup by a local specialist and driving the car afterwards was a revelation! Before that I was hitting the throttle when I meant to be hitting the brake.

But yeah, don't do it until you get home, and get a good look at that throttle cable to see what sort of condition it's in. I keep a spare in my car just in case it snaps!

Nearer Southampton so not far away! Think I might come back via the A3/A31 for a more interesting route.

Thanks for advice, will look at the pedals on Sunday :-)
