Intercom/Music Engine Interference

Last year I purchased a Starcom 1 Advance to use with Peltor headphones with mikes connected to an iPod.

I was out and about today and over 3,500 - 4,000 RPM all I get is loud static. If I lift-off the static disappears.

When I was using this set-up last year it was never completely static free but the interference then was more background. Now it drowns out everything. I have checked and re-checked all the connections between the Starcom and the headphones etc.

The car is a 2.3 Duratec, any suggestions as to how to get rid of or suppress the interference?

Have your headphones got active noise cancellation? Mine get a lot of interference when the throttle is open just because the system can't cope with 'that much' noise.
