Gain in height with Tillets and FIA roll bar
Discussion
It is the best thing I have done for a very long time, buying this Caterham: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...
It is so much FUN on the twisty roads around here!
But I also wan't to take it to track days. I am 191 cm and only just fit in the car. I have read a lot of posts about tillet seats, lowered floors etc., but find it difficult to find any exact measures on how much I will gain in headroom with the Caterham tillets installed compared to standard cloth seats?
FIA roll bars - sold out at Caterham parts, but is there other places I can get it, and how much higher is it, compared to the standard roll bar?? I need room for a helmet...
Thanks for any help,
- Morten from Denmark

Try caged direct - www.therollcagepeople.com - they are the people who make the bars....Watch out with the FIA roll bar. You are tall and most likely have the seat right up against the bulkhead, and the FIA bar as well as being higher is angled forwards and the top is several inches further forward than the standard bar. They make it this way to fit under the hood, but with the seat right back the bar is dangerously close to a tall drivers head.
For a safer solution, it is best to have a taller upright bar made although this won't allow use of the standard hood, and lowered floors are probably a good idea.
