Been Aero for some 15 years...
Love it!
Always wear sunglasses (with clear lenses at night) and a beanie when cold.
Nothing else required... and would certainly never use a bash hat as it insulates you too much from the road a round you.

It really is a different, and far better experience compared to using that large air-brake!

Not on a caterham cos I can't afford one :P but I always wear a lid, even though I have a fairly high carbon aero-screen.
Shortly after buying the car I took a stone to the face from the car infront (30-40mph in a 60 zone). The stone glanced the side of my cheek and then somehow bounced down into the passenger footwell. It was a fair size, and I've no doubt I would have lost an eye or some teeth if contact had been made elsewhere.

Like Eugene
, I don't wear a helmet when I drive aero... but worry I may be pushing my luck...
I do always wear safety specs (Bolle ones from Screwfix for circa £10) and earplugs.
I have contemplated a D3O beanie as a compromise for some head, if not face, protection... anyone else got one?

I have both clear and tinted safety specs from work but I mainly use my sunnies as they are polarized. I know the safety specs offer more protection but I really prefer the polarized lenses. Ear plugs are also from work, wonder if I should ask them to get some sort of face protection in!

Ive got a Tiger Avon with Aero screens and love it ..... But Sun glasses or Clear safety glasses at night are a must for anything over 40 ish and i even have gone the flying goggle route sometimes :-)
Any normal trip that involves a main A road etc is helmet job.
Without it you also get mad hair :-) but a smile per mile.

but when I got home, my face was filthy, it almost looked like I'd been on the footplate of a steam train! I'm starting to think a full face helmet would be a good idea
I have just started using earplugs and what a difference
