Fuel tank connections?
Discussion
On my 1999 fuel tank, I have the main big bore filler back right, to the left of it the main vent.
I then have two more, one top centre and one coming out of the rear facing the transmission tunnel/ diff.
I have removed my charcoal canister as part of an ongoing rebuild.
I've seen the 'vent mod' incorporating a one way valve coming off the filler neck and this goes down the right hand side of the tank.
Having forgotten how I took it all apart, I believe the top centre (overflow?) went to atmosphere down the right side if the tank.
The rear back take off went to the charcoal canister (?).
What do I do with this last two mentioned above? Stick the top middle into the filler neck to vent? Cap the rear one off?

Just had to take my tank out and out back in again on my inj car.
The top centre hose is a breather which goes to the rear most pipe on the filler neck.
The other pipe which has the 'pinched' pipe section goes to atmos with a one way valve as you say or the charcoal canister as mine still does.
Not sure what people do with the hose unless it's just cable tied to the tank strap or something.
Does that help?
Cheers

So top centre to the filler neck. Then out of the filler neck from the opposite side (crimped outlet) into a one way valve and then to atmosphere. I have arranged the one way valve aspect like the PDF notice going around to overcome fuel spilling out on left handers.
That confirms where the pipe went to the charcoal canister, no loose ends there then.
How about the rear outlet shown on the picture
Newer tanks seem to not have the top centre vent. The back outlet seems to go to the bottom of the tank from my brief investigation. I blew into the top centre one and just heard air. I blew into the back one and it sounded as if I was blowing bubbles in petrol.

Yep the new filler necks have lost the fourth pipe too.
Re the rear outlet do you mean the horizontal pipe out of the side at the top? That is the low pressure return pipe from the engine. The hose comes through from the transmission tunnel
Ahh okay. I have the pipe in the transmission tunnel for the fuel filter. I'll put that return in next time I'm working on it then. Must be hidden somewhere. Copper one assumes?Re the rear outlet do you mean the horizontal pipe out of the side at the top? That is the low pressure return pipe from the engine. Not sure if it's a copper hard line in the tunnel. It comes out the tunnel as a plastic (low flex) pipe which is then joined to a more flexible rubber hose that slides over the tank pipe.
Sorry I'm not au fait with techinical terms but hope you follow.
I still have the boot floor out so could take a picture if you like but won't be till the weekend.
