I'm changing to a lightweight flywheel which accepts M8 bolts for the clutch cover, so forced to ditch my old M7 bolts.

The M7 bolts were grade 10.9 flange bolts, however Caterham are only supplying grade 8.8 hex bolts as the 10.9 M8 flange bolts are no longer available so I'm told. Can anyone confirm if 8.8 hex bolts are man enough for the job? I guess they're just holding the cover to the flywheel and not really taking the brunt of the lateral forces. If OK should I use spring washers or just Loctite?

Thanks in advance

The 8.8 bolts are up to the job , if they are correctly torqued they shouldn't need loctite or a spring washer, however if you must.. Use a soft variety of loctite.
