Reverse light switch location
Discussion
My reverse light only comes on if I maintain some pressure on the gear lever, leading me to think the switch needs to be adjusted, but I've no clue how to get to it. Can I access it underneath the car, or do I have to take the tunnel cover off and go in from the top? Its a 6-speed caterham box.
on my type 9 there was a precut hole in the ali panel (tunnel) where the switch is.
so carpet off, remove ali tape and extract switch.
I cant imaging Caterham would have done much differnet for the 6 speed, but I cant help you on the switches location Im afraid.
'Wip the carpet up n have a look

Reversing light isn't part of the MOT so no problem there.
The carpet on the side is normally glued on with spray adhesive but some thoughtful builders choose to use velcro or poppers so you might be lucky.
If you want to remove the tunnel top then you simply remove the gear knob (small allen key to release the locking grub screw then it unscrews), then get under the car and slacken off the handbrake cable a lot so that the handbrake lever can be pulled vertical - then the tunnel should just pull off.
