Hi there im thinking of taking the plunge again and buying another Caterham , ive had 2 in years past but never a K-series one.
Im going to keep my Noble M12 (its part of the family) and ive managed to convince the enemy that she could drive the Caterham as well and ive seen what seems to be a nice spec one in yellow on Pistonheads.
Seems highish milage and a few owners but for 10k doesnt seem to menacing ... can anybody tell me what to look out for ..Do they have overheating probs, do the 6 speed box give troubles ect
Thanx for advice

I've a 1.8 K VVC, 1999.

No overheating issues. The headgasket went once but has now be correctly repaired and all has been trouble free, I believe it didn't help having a leak from the water rail when I bought it.

No issues from my 6 speed box.

The electrical oil pressure senders aren't very reliable and are often swapped out for a mechanical setup for roughly the same cost of a replacement sender.

I'm currently rebuilding mine. The only major issues I've had over the years are an overstretched/ broken clutch and throttle cable. But since installing the pedal stops, this has eliminated this issue.

The paneling on mine was bubbling quite badly in areas. Upon a full panel strip down, the chassis had no particularly bad areas, but it was starting to look a little shabby.

I've got a 1998 1.8k Supersport - 29000 miles and counting with the 6 speed box. It's a great combination in my view.

I've run into no issues regarding overheating and the gearbox has been completely trouble free.

It's a bit on the noisy side at motorway speeds though.
