I'm an S3 owner but I've never seen an animosity towards SV owners (and I've been an owner for over 11 years), no snobbery between chassis that I'm aware of. As for noise you can upgrade to throttle bodies if you want to, I think it is quite expensive but IIRC it does add about 10bhp
