I currently have a set of CR500s (175/55R13 front and 205/55R13 rear), however the rears are quite worn and the front left has developed a slow puncture. I'm hence looking for suitable replacements.
I use the car (Superlight 150) solely for the road; however hope to do a track day or two later in the year. Do people recommend another set or CR500s or are there other options I should consider?
I should add that I drive my seven in all conditions so wet weather performance is also important.
Many thanks

CR500's are not a bad choice for all round use ! http://www.avonmotorsport.com/resource-centre/tyre...

Not many options around anymore now that the 21Rs have been discontinued.
I've used my CR500s in all weather and found them excellent. They're due to be replaced by the new ZZS soon.
I will say though, with a Sigma 150 you probably don't need the wide rear wheels, and the car would have an excellent balance with 13x6 wheels all round.

My car (Sigma 140) has CR500's on 175/13 6" wide wheels all round and as framerate says does have a lovely balance. On track at Oulton in the slower chicane at Hislops I was getting a nice bit of oversteer on the exit that was communicated wonderfully by the chassis and was nicely controllable. I'd stick with the CR500's personally as they are a good all round tyre and plenty good enough on track.

I guess with similar power levels my car will give up it's grip a little sooner which can be fun in the right environment. If these cars are driven properly on the road then it shouldn't matter what width the rear tyres are.
I've yet to push the car hard enough in the dry to break traction at the rear. In the wet however it's a hoot, progressive and predictable.

There's a new pair of cr500 rears on eBay that look good value
Yeah I saw those but they're the other side of the country which is a pity. I'd spend more than the cost saving collecting them.Gassing Station | Caterham | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
