Guys,

I'm in the market for a trailer for my r500 (but ideally something with the scaleability also for my 308gts) - there are a couple of tilt bed trailers on eBay that are tempting (budget 1500-2000) but I'm slightly concerned about the tilt angle / bed height for loading my Caterham - whilst the bed looks like it sits on the axle rather than above the wheel, without trying it, there's no way of knowing whether the approach angle is too steep - am I being overly cautious? The obvious answer is to buy from a dealer and test a few, but I think I'll struggle to get a twin axle for my budget from a dealer with the vat element and the margin involved.

I'm hoping people will say that any tilt bed trailer should easily take a Caterham, just to make my life easier!

Thanks in advance!

Aeroscreens on here has a tiltbed and his S3 goes on and off ok.
A lot less faffing around than with ramps too.

Somebody call?

Whatisname is quite correct I've had my clubman tiltbed for 6 years or so and it's absolutely brilliant the only potential downside for some is that it's quite long, a shade over 5m IIRC and it only just fitted in my old single garage.

No problems with ramp angle as you can see below:

Thanks chaps that's useful. Thinking of buying one of the below, imo both look like they'd do the job - I'd welcome any thoughts though, just to make sure I'm not missing anything obvious.

I used to use a Brian James one of these for my 7, as well as other cars, and they are great.
Lovely to use and easy to load and unload even with small wheels etc

Hi there.

I currently have a PRG tilt bed for sale. Excellent condition throughout, info below.

I've owned the trailer for about 18 months and am only changing due to purchasing a covered trailer for travelling to France next month.

The PRG Sport has a very generous 14 foot x 6 foot 2" load bed so can easily accommodate anything from Westfield to saloon car. The previous owner purchased it new and only had light use towing a Smart car behind a Winnebago.

Trailer comes with:

Bradley Double Hitch Lock
5 Excellent Tyres
Lights all in order
Centre Decked
Tilt Bed - No faffing with ramps
1800KG Gross weight - Trailer weighs 500kg
Wheel Chocks
Two hitch keys
Dry Stored

Excellent order throughout, all very light use

£1995 ono
