Hi guys,

Last post was deleted.. So trying to word this one carefully.. I'm thinking of getting into an r500 from my current toy (Jedi single seater)

There are very few for sale now.. Could be time of year? Or are people holding onto them now? How many roughly were made?

Duratec car could be. A potential... But I would rather not spend 35k+ on a toy

Any reason you want an R500 in particular?

What is your planned use?

Somewhere around 90+ R500k's were made. They don't come up very often but you can see some of them here

http://www.thecaterhamregister.net/superlight%20R5...

Good ones hold their price very well.

Cheers guys,

Intended use would be mostly track inc some competition.. Odd race.. Maybe sprint/hill too... but want the option of road for a blat.. Doesn't need to be an r500, but in caterham models.. Needs to be that level of spec... A decent super light could wel be an option... I'm not an R snob... And if I'm honest struggle to see the valuations on many caterhams

Hi Mark

I've a 98 Superlight R, perfect car for road or track. In it's early days went to Minister for some engine upgrades and ended up at 208bhp. It's a cracking car and never let me down and been well looked after. In mclaren orange.

It's on the caterham register with plaque etc so genuine car. The car drives perfect for all occasions. Not too mad unlike a 500K I originally test drove which just seemed to constantly want full power or else it seemed to fuel up and splutter abit & this was from a well known specialist by me! Saying that though it was hell of a car when gave it some beans!

My car isn't advertised anywhere but I'm thinking of selling to buy a Cayman R to be bit more practical due to women!!! It's a good example and based in Wiltshire.

Anymore details call me, 07748 604652. Bear of luck & I'm sure it be the perfect car for your uses with alot of spare money in your pocket.

Cheers, hope it's ok to put this here!

Don't know that car... But yes... Something along those lines would tempt me out of the Jedi I think.

You still racing Bert Bert?

Yes I am still out there. Mostly in a Historic Formula Ford 2000, but had an entertaining foray back out in a Radical this summer in the 90 minuter at Snett!

I have no idea if Peter is really selling his car. He had the engine refreshed this year and it's all Mot'd n stuff - just never gets used. In storage at the moment. PM me if you want me to put you in touch.

Pm inbound..

I didn't realize you had a FF2000 historic... Lovely cars... Similar chassis/set up to the Jedi in many ways. I think we met in donington in '09 at a radical meeting?

R500 k is fantastic. I sold my Dave Andrews felted R500 that had been bored out to 1.9 a number of years ago and sorely miss it. It was bollistic with a true 218bhp at the rear wheels. I sold it due to the fact I would only let Dave work on it and he is 250 miles away from me. The solution was an s3 converted to 280bhp 2.3 duratec for a lot less than £35k. It was an ex race car so has full cage uprated gearbox and diff so I am sure you will find a missile for the money.
