Hi Guys,

This is my first post but hoping you may be able to help. I am looking at getting a caterham to replace my sportsbike which was stolen earlier in the year.

I love the idea of a supersport after reading the 2011 Evo magazine article (http://www.evo.co.uk/caterham/7/11683/caterham-seven-supersport-news-and-pictures) but was a little confused when I saw the below being marketed by Oakmere. It says the car was made in 2007 but it looks very similar to the one Evo tested in 2011?

http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/c...

I don't know if the last owner spent some money converting it to the same specification or just whether I am missing anything.

Also any advice / thoughts on the car itself and Oakmere would be very interesting. I am thinking of using it predominantly for road but live in London so don't need a daily driver.

Thanks!

Hi EFB88 The Car you've linked too is my old Car which if I'm honest I do regret selling as I can't find anything that was as good as this one...It's a fantastic piece of kit and was the first Sigma Supersport built and was the Caterham Press Car which has done the rounds in the magazines and been on Top Gear...I owned it for 3 years
in that time the Car never missed a beat or gave me any problems...great Car I do envy the next owner....you'll love it!!..

Looking at the pictures it is impossible to say if it is the same car or not. I bet there are more than a handful of orange supersports with white stripes. My gut instinct is that it is the same car (note it even has the poppers to fit the half doors pictured in the EVO article), however the dates are a bit out - 2007 vs the article written in 2011. Its quite possible that someone on here will know the history of this particular car. An easy way to find out would be to call Oakmere and ask about it.

The car at Oakmere has the wider 8 inch rear wheels compared to the EVO one. But that would have been an easy swap for someone to make. With 140bhp you'll probably prefer the 6 inch wheels.

I have a very similar spec car and love it. If you do go for that one, try and get the aeroscreen and half-doors included in the price. A lot of dealers remove those 'extras' and sell them on individually. Bit of a shame considering the hardware is already on the car to fit them.

--Edit--

Haha there you go ^^ someone who knows its history 'very well'
