Caterham 7 CSR, sourcing front and rear tyres appears more difficult than normal via Caterham online parts. They don't answer emails, return calls or stock much nowadays.

So, notice Avon are replacing the rear cr500 245 40 R15 with ZZS same size. However the front cr500 195 45 r15 will be replaced with a larger profile ZZS, namely a 245 50 r15.
These ZZS will not most likely fit in the arch wing guard of the CSR. Would require a modified wing stay to adapt to the new tyre size; maybe Caterham are on this already.

Thought you CSR owners would find that fact useful.

Off to source some tyres from Avon direct.

New ZZS rears are the same as CR500 , fronts in ZZS are 195/50x15 which may or may not fit under cycle wings, they are 13 MM. taller but around 15mm narrower. I also need a new set so will be giving the ZZS a go.

Viper blue - let us know how you get on. There are a few of us who will need tyres this year. It would be good to know how f the 195/50 tyres fit under the stays.

BTW: the 195/50 should be the same width approx as the 195/45s.

I don't know if this will be much help to you.

I currently have Toyo R1r's 195/55/15 running on my cycle wings on a '99 S3.

Steve, Avon Motorsport (near bath) say will continue to make cr500 in small order indefinitely.
Therefore most likely continue with cr500 all around, or as a min use the ZZS on the rear. If the cr500 become obsolete on the front I will most likely source other 195 45 r15 for the car.
Using a 50 profile on the front seems a backward step to me, cycle wing issue aside. On the positive side it would give the car an extra half inch sump clearance !!!

CSRs are rarer than stock holding at Caterham cars.
