Welcome and good to see you have a proper, not one of these modern ones.
The Ford Crossflow engine was fitted in loads of Fords in the 1970's to 1990's, Escorts, Capris, with engines from !300cc 1600cc etc
You shouldn't have any problems sourcing an alternator but Burton are a well known Ford Specialist in the UK for all sorts of parts but be careful, you might start to spend a lot of money on upgrades!

Oooh that looks nice. Why the toothed disc on the crank pulley, I'm still running points......

That's for the crank sensor. I'm running an omex ecu. Ignition only. It's a very reliable and maintainance free set up.

Yes, I went the "old school" way on purpose, I like to work on the old machines my self, and they produce a great sound.
I also have a 850 Norton commando in the garage :-)

As you like the sound of an old school Xflow, this may be up your street. This is my car on the rolling road last week.Yes, I went the "old school" way on purpose, I like to work on the old machines my self, and they produce a great sound.

The video doesn't really do it justice, it was LOUD!

I got the feeling, I know it is nearly impossible to record the sound the same way you hear it.https://youtu.be/ZeEI0GSj5nY

That run was 6500rpm if I remember correctly. We did 3 or 4 runs to 7500rpm but was pointless really as power had tailed after 6500. We lowered the Rev limit to 6800 so as not to stress the engine too much. How many RPM´s was that?
