I'll let you read through the various comments with respect to "safety" of this solution, versus the "safety" available in a Caterham with or without kids in it. Personal choice at the end of the day!
From my point of view, I'd be happy with these for a pootle, but not for trying to hang the back end out at every opportunity and effectively driving off the rev limiter

I have one of these that I use to take my daughter out in mine, she is 10 but has been using it in the 7 since she was about 7 or 8, I do have a 6 point harness to stop it sliding forward on the Tillets.
