Ok, so that didn't take long. Late (06) K series. 5 speed box (if it makes a difference) - what do I need to look for if I want to put an LSD in, and is it worth considering a secondhand one, or do they need rebuilding often enough I'd be daft to put a s/h one in without a rebuild / may as well just bite the bullet?

I'd go for a decent plate diff, where the ramp angles can be set to give different lock up behaviours under both acceleration and deceleration.

I'd only go for a Titan diff. Given the Caterham isn't too hard on plates, I'd be less worried about going for their carbon plate pack. Make sure you use the *exact* oil they specify though, as this will affect wear and behaviour.

Road or track?
If you're more road biased, you may want to consider a Quaif ATB.

+1 for the Quaife ATB for road and occasional track. (But arguments about the last 10th will be had about track use)

Progressive (not abrupt on/off), predictable, maintenance free, lifetime warranty for road use, & gives nice overseer when desired wink

I'd speak to Steve Perks at Tracsport about one of his diff so.. work of art!

For road and track with an engine up to 210, I'd say quaiffe. Had that for 9 years in mine and it was absolutely fine. Decent performance and very reliable. Above 210 it struggles on track to control everything. Titan better for that but needs more careful looking after as mentioned above.

When I went to Road and Race for a diff rebuild, I asked about the Quaffe torsen diffs, and Phil just said they aren't an LSD and highly recommended I go for a Titan. He knows how to set up Titans and it has transformed my Seven.

Hi how often would you say a titan will need to be serviced ?
