Basic diff question

Please can someone just check my thinking here is correct:

- Jack the car up with both rear wheels off the ground, gearbox in neutral, manually rotate one of the rear wheels - the other wheel doesn't turn
- Put the car in gear, repeat the exercise & the other wheel rotates in the opposite direction to the turned wheel

= an open diff.

Reason I ask is a load of the videos on youtube make reference both wheels rotating while the car is in neutral.
