I've just bought some ACF50 to help makes my car more winter friendly. Can anyone offer advice on where to and how best to apply it? I'm thinking of the the grout traps, and exposed metalwork and engine bay. Is it any good on the paintwork and will it remove any prior protection? Looking at the tinternet it's great on all surfaces of motorbikes, except brakes and tyres of course...

Also, having taken the seat bases and rubber floor mats out of my brand new factory cat there was plenty of water in there. I'm sure I've read this is "normal" but is there a fix? My car has lowered floors.

Cheers.

haven't really tried to waterproof mine, but i suppose you could try to seal the footwells, rivets etc with smear of bathroom silicone or some-such.

ACF won't harm anything but keep off the brakes obviously.

I have found that the rubber mats trap water underneath indefinitely which can't be a good thing so I cut some absorbent cloth from the kitchen and fitted underneath the rubber mats which absorbs the moisture and allows footwells to breathe and dry out.

I wouldn't bother with the external bodywork but anywhere the body contacts the chassis etc (especially the grot traps) where water can hide has to be a candidate. For the internals and mechanicals I pretty much sprayed everything apart from the exhaust and the brakes. Take the rear wheels off and lift the boot floor to get access to the rear suspension.

I also try to avoid the wet but that's mostly because I hate the hood 😊

Jack up the front of the car and spray loads in to the grot traps. Leave the car 10 minutes and you'll see it dripping out the back by the wheel arches.

I buy the liquid ACF50 rather than aerosol it seems to last much longer and be more cost effective.
