Will brexit affect delivering of new Seven?
Discussion
Nothing could be further from my intention than to emulate any of the already numerous existent threads in this House dedicated to brexit. Mine is a completely practical and selfish interest, although I hope not to be Caterham's only customer outside of the UK, in my same situation. TBH, I'm just trying to plan my holidays

I think Caterham will be perfectly willing and happy to sell outside of the UK post Brexit, so the "selling" bit I can't see will change. The real question is one that only the rest of the EU or Germany can answer, which will be the "importing" bit to where you are.
Which likely lies mostly outside of any deal or no deal....
If the car has EU Type Approval then it will be no different to buying a Land Rover built in the UK or even a Toyota and then shipped to Europe.

Always difficult to say with these issues, but common sense would say that Germany would be harming the German dealers as much as Caterham if they stopped imports. I think individuals in each country would avoid this happening, but whether the zealots in Brussels enforce something crazy....................I hope not.
Whether the UK is in the EU or not, I hope Seven enthusiasts in Germany will be allowed to buy and drive their cars, and hopefully join the Lotus seven Club too

Thank you for your input. Sure it will very much depend on how friendly ends the process. My main fear is about the delivery timetable, as I've read about a possible chaos in the borders, and if things start to slowing down a bit, maybe it would be better to go picking up the car myself to the UK. I will have to travel anyway, as I did place my order in the north of Germany, and I live in Spain.
In any case, if there's someone else in the Continent who is also waiting for the delivery of your Caterham, it'll be a pleasure to share experiences. For now, I've got to say that the waiting is being very hard, and too long for an old f*ck like myself, 9 months it's a pregnancy!! I just hope all this will be remembered as a pet peeve the moment I put my hands on it. Thanks again for your answers!

Hi All, I'm here in the States and I just got my kit delivered the first week of February. The sad part is I ordered it back in November of '17!
When I ordered it they told me I would get it by July of '18. Well that came and went but I finally got it last month. And I'm very happy with it, I'm almost finished actually.
The reason I was given for the delay was that Caterham had to certify all the engines they had to some new EU regulations, so that slowed everything up, and they moved their paint shop in house, where before they subbed out the paint work. So building a paint shop and getting it functional, delayed delivery also.
The dealer told me when he delivered it, that if I was to order one then Feb. '19, I wouldn't see it till summer of 2020.
Congrats on your purchase it's well worth the wait.
