New Caterham 6 speed gear knob won't fit....
Discussion
Hi
I came home this evening to find a parcel from Caterham Parts containing a nice shiney 6 speed gear knob. No hassle having to travel to a Post Office depot miles away at a stupid hour to try and find it. The old gear knob was easy to get off, much too easy I thought. Of course it was too easy as it doesn't fit the gear lever....
Any ideas? Do I need to purchase the Caterham quickshift as well? Has anyone fitted this combination as I was looking to move the gear knob a bit higher up out of the transmission tunnel. At the moment I change gear with my finger tips pointing down rather than with my hand around the gear knob.

It seems that there are three different levers fitted; 1) has a 3/8" thread on the lever with M12 thread adapter on it (remove adapter and bolt on gear knob), 2) M12 thread cut on the lever (like mine of course) that the Caterham gear knob will not fit and 3) a lever with a 3/8" thread already cut on it.
