Hi all,

I am now 25 and now insured on my dad's caterham. YES! It has been working fine but was driving yesterday and the indicators stopped working.

The hazards are working fine and I have checked the fuses.

Has anyone had this issue? Using hand signals instead of indicators is not ideal!

Many thanks for your help!

If the hazards are fine then it sounds like it could be the indicator toggle switch - loose connection there perhaps?

I would check if the 4-way flashers have a separate flasher unit. If so you need to check the normal unit as well as the indicator switch.

Jonathan

a common problem is bad connections within the hazard switch, switch them on and half a dozen times and make sure you push it off firmly then try the indicators. If that doesn't work then you need to check the flasher unit is seated OK, it's fitted under the dash on the passenger side with 3 relays next to the fuses

Just had the same problem with mine. Took the relay unit out and refitted it a couple of times and all began to work again. Hope yours is as simple. Check earth wires too.

If my hazrd switch isn't in a certain position the indicators won't work. My last 7 was exactly the same.
Suggest you fiddle around with the switch & try it in very slightly different positions of off(if that makes sense) - I'd be pretty certain that will fix the fault

Replacing the hazard switch is the likely permanent solutiion. In the short term, operating the hazard switch rapidly several times will probably do the trick but the problem will reoccur.

I LOVE this forum - spent the most of the afternoon trying to make my indicators work - went of to buy a new relay - nothing. Googled "Caterham indicator fault" and went straight to this post - touched the hazzard switch once. AND now it all Works Again !!! Thanks Guys - this is a great forum for us newbies !

Cheers, Morten
