Cheers, glad you like the colour, as it was a bit of a step in the dark. When I bought it it had the black pack, and no stripe. I'm very pleased with it

It's a 140bhp, six speed, no LSD, but it does have an anti-cav tank and uprated brakes.

I think it works really well in those colours and agree about the black pack. Good choise on the spec too, six speed box is worth a good 20-30bhp over the 5 speed due to the shorter ratios and dry sump is a worthy addition if only for the trackdays. LSD is all very well but you'll get a hell of a lot more benefit (enjoyment) out of the 6 speeder and dry sump.

I hope so. It's only got the Apollo anti-cavitation tank rather than a full dry sump tho.

Looney, what do you mean the 6 speed is worth 20-30 bhp over a 5 speed? I don't think the ratios make any difference to the power. Granted, the 6 speed suits the character of the car and engine more - all gears are direct and there's no overdrive as there is in the Type 9, but I can't see how this doesn't impact horespower at all. From memory, the 6 speed loses 30 or so bhp through the transmission and I think the 5 speed isn't that far behind.

Having said all that, for me, the 6 speed wins hands down.

What I meant about the power thing is that you can keep the naturally revvy K-series 'on the boil' so much easier with a 6 speed box that the car will 9/10 be in the power band. It also means that you're changing gear more with a 6 but surely one of the greatest things about a Caterham is it's switch like gearbox. I wasn't actually implying that the gearbox gives you more power it just feels like it.

Phew! I thought that I'd lost the plot for a minute there, I was actually starting to confuse myself for a minute! I'm currently suffering severe withdrawl symptoms at the moment as my R300 is currently in Caterhams showroom on sale or return and now that the sun is shining I'm REALLY missing it

The (painful) reason for selling is due to impending house purchase and current job insecurity. It was typical that the day that I took it back the sun was shining, the car was going superbly and the roads were traffic free!!! I'm severley tempted to throw caution to the wind and just get it back (or buy another one). Driving my Punto Sporting is really not having the same effect to be honest

Yes, I sold my SLR for more or less the same reasons. Sell it and buy an older one at half the price = win/win. Buy the right spec car and you can then upgrade it over time too.
