Battery change Astra K

Recently bought a 1.6 petrol 200 Astra K, and the battery is on its last legs. Couple of questions if you please... Do these need programming? There's conflicting info online. And secondly, when you look for replacements some places list the bigger "115" battery, with a few more cold cranking amps, I'm keen to go bigger and swap the existing 096 for a 115, so are there any known issues doing that please?

I can’t answer on the coding, but with regard to a larger capacity there will be no issues going for a larger capacity battery - as long as it physically fits in the car. Check the battery tray space first and if it will physically fit then all good.

If you fit an absolutely identical battery (in terms of electrical specification, not brand) you won't need coding.

If you fit a bigger/more powerful battery you will definitely need coding.
