I Live in Blackpool and have just driven past the factory. Parked outside was a Typhon in Reflex Charcoal with trade plates on. Not sure whether it had been out on a test or was going. It might be the same car I saw a month ago being worked on in one of the workshops. The doors were open and I managed to get a couple of piccies but only with a camera phone so the quality is not good.

It did however look awesome.

Get them posted!!! I love the interior of Lawrence's t440, I just hope the production car is as radical. Those aluminium stalks..

Now that is interesting Chris. I wonder what motor it was packing and I wonder what the chassis was!

Reflex charcoal was the colour of the one doing the rounds of the dealers last year (or was it the year before) I'm certain it didn't have a supercharged lump in it then, or any lump come to think of it . As mentioned it'll be intersting to know what its packing .

This has been going round for years.

This pic was a 2004 at racing green, it had a sequencial box but no supercharger.

could they not be using the body as a cover for the Cerby mk2 chassis and engine combo?

I've seen 4 or 5 different ones in the workshop at the same time including 2 reflex charcoal ones lined up behind each other.

I know TVR are worried about keep new model etc private and under cover but they don't help themselves when they openly work on them with the workshop doors open so that anyone driving past can see them

It's good news though. I can't wait for the car to be released. It's a real shame they dropped the supercharger though (and from a reliable source, won't be adding one at any time in the near future as they have other work to do on the speed 6).

So, where are those pics?

Typhon is a CF monocoque construction.

Ahh well and therein lies the nub.
1) There aint no CF ppl left at TVR, they closed the dept.
2) The CF monocoque was too expensive and a bitch to produce. It wasnt *that* production viable.

er that last bit is strictly allegedly.
It was my understanding that that was the reason the Typhon was canned, or at least canned in the form which had been released to the public. Whether or not Moleskins has gone back to the concept and they have redesigned the monocoque to eradicate some/all of the complications I dont know and I havent collared anybody recently to nag em about it. (sorry I was only at home for 2 days over Xmas)

That is stunning. Please make it, and make it fast, very fast.

Edited to add: Is that a footrest next to the pedals?

Looks like it. It does look like a really wide footwell, which would be a welcome change!
