It's a better version of DiRT 2 imo, good rally action coupled with entertaining gymkhana stuff and the previously-used rallcross, trailblazer et al. Handling is an improvement upon DiRT 2 and it looks as though it'll provide you with some decent playing time too, plus some decent multiplayer modes, I think it's a very good all round game.
The game is worth the asking price alone for the Sierra RS Cosworth. Absolutely awesome! The Metro 6R4 is a nice addition too. It looks like the 90's, 80's and Group B classes are going to be the best. Ari Vatanen's hillclimb 405 looks amazing too.
Sadly, the game's soundtrack is a load of crap and it's definitely trying to pander to the emo/skateboarder type kids. Luckily, there appears to be some decent rally fun to be had beneath the marketing guff.

I played it a little last night, I think the game is bigger than it first appears. Like everyone here I prefer the rally and rallycross. It is quite difficult and not too arcadey so you have a few good crashes and the physics are good if you have contact in a game, nudging into someone wrong can send yourself into a spin.
Looking forward to some more youtube moments.

Just had a bash at a trailblazer event in the snow, used the Audi Quattro Pikes Peak S1, was a right monster and sounded absolutely awesome! It's definitely harder than in DiRT 2. In the previous game you could constantly 'cut' corners, where as in DiRT 3 it punishes you alot more for trying to cut where you shouldn't!
Started it today, just as good as Dirt 2 with new/better cars & more proper rally stages. Can`t get online though atm cos the 360 is not connecting with the computer for some reason so no VIP Sierra for me yet..
30 secs on the youtube uploads I seem to recall, should be no bother to use the YT video editor to whack some uploads together into longer compilations.
Can anyone confirm no online replay`s..don`t think you can see/save a replay online..

A quick word of warning to anyone digitally downloading on PC.
File size is 7576 Mb (!).
When I started downloading, I thought it was saying approximately 8 minutes to download. It was 8 hours

Mine was 11.8GB on Steam! About the norm for todays games though, I think Test Drive 2 was around 14/15GB!File size is 7576 Mb (!).

As mentioned, looks fantastic on the PC - despite having some minor issues (red sun glitch) which were resolved by updating drivers. Yet to try online, but should be promising if single player is anything to go by.

I have to say I'm really enjoying this. The Gymkhana stuff is a load of crap but the core rallying is quite good.
Here is a video I made of me racing a Sierra RS Cosworth over some nice tarmac on a Michigan stage. What a wonderful looking car.
