I know there are a few Black Ops players on here, so I am keen to get your views on this.

I am slowly progressing up the Prestige ranks (up to Prestige 4 now) but I keen to explore the most efficient way of progressing up.

I usually get to around rank 30 when my OCD kicks in and I start wanting all the Pro perks and weapons so waste time trying to share care packages, get hip fire kills, etc. I am realising though that even when I have all the weapons and perks, I end up only using one or two different customisations and favour one or two weapons.

So, to speed things up my initial thoughts are:

Only bother getting Ghost Pro, Slight of Hand Pro, Warlord Pro and Ninja Pro
Get the Claymore as the only equipment
Stick with the Famas – Available early on and quite accurate/powerful
Get the FN-FAL with scope and suppressor – better than sniper rifle
Only buy a couple of attachments for Famas – Suppressor and a scope/sight

Which combination of killstreaks should I go for to the most points?

Any general suggestions would be appreciated!

You've prestiged four times already, and you're stil hungry for more? I prestiged for the fourth time a few days ago, I'm getting a bit bored of the grind now so I've just bought Battlefield 2.

Looks amazing.

Ghost (not pro, too much effort), SOH pro, second chance pro. Python with speed reloader. Semtex and decoy 'nades. Claymore. Enfield/Famas/Galil/Commando (swap when unlocked) with suppressor. Spy plane, Chopper Gunner, Gunship. Capture the Flag, normal or hardcore.

Battlefield 2 is pants.

Take advantage of contracts to gain extra XP and play loads during double XP weekends.

Certain gamemodes give more XP, SND is good if your good at it and demo is also.

I do it a bit differently to Norbs.

Ghost pro (personally i think it's essential), i usually have this between ranks 15 to 20, ninja (not bothered about pro on this) and warlord (also not bothered about pro). Claymore, Galil with supressor, M72, spy plane, chopper and chopper gunner. I only play hardcore and CTF, HQ and domination are best for XP in my experience.

Great setup even if you are not as good as Norbury (watch some of his CTF vin,s its like he 'knows' when and wher ethey are coming). I still think Ghost Pro is worth it as it is very annoying for the enermy when there lovely chopper kill streak wont shoot at you. I also use Hacker instead of second chance as i hate getting blown up by claymores. smile

Currently on prestige no 7 at the moment.
We (our clan) 2 of my mates & my brother play team tacitcal, an array of games: TDM, Domination, Demolition S&D & CTF, 4 players to a team.
If you have a good clan you can generally clean up.
We went unbeaten for about 30 games i think!

My classes are

General - Perks - Hardline Pro (change care crates), Warlord Pro (extra grenades & specials) Marathon Pro (unlimited running).
Famas with extra mags & a red dot sight, semtex, flash & claymores.
Secondary is a Strela 3 for shooting down ANYHTING in the sky (extra points).

Search & Destroy- Perks - Ghost, Warlord Pro (extra grenades & specials) Hacker.
Famas with suppressor & a red dot sight, semtex, gas & claymores.
Secondary is a Strela 3 for shooting down ANYHTING in the sky (extra points).

Running - AK74U OR MPL, w/ Rapid fire Perks - Sleight of hand pro (faster sight aim), Warlord Pro (extra grenades & specials) Marathon Pro (unlimited running).
semtex, flash & claymores.
Secondary is a Strela 3 for shooting down ANYHTING in the sky (extra points).

Tube - AK74U with nade launcher. Perks - Sleight of hand pro (faster sight aim), Warlord Pro (extra grenades & specials) Marathon Pro (unlimited running).
semtex, flash & claymores.
Secondary is a Strela 3 for shooting down ANYHTING in the sky (extra points).

Flak - Spas shotgun. Perks - Flak jacket, Warlord Pro (extra grenades & specials) Marathon Pro (unlimited running). semtex, flash & claymores.
RPG.

I also have an alternative general class where i have an AUG on instead of the FAMAS.
And an anti-aircraft class, same as SND but without the silencer.
I also have a CTF class which is the same as the running class but i use a tactical insertion.

I also agree with you in your weapon set up OP and I too only have 1 class set up with extended mags/suppressor (Famas) that I only use.

A major tip that I have worked out to help prestige that little quicker is to BUY EVERYTHING, even if you don't set up a class for it; because you never know when you might 'borrow' someone elses gun/launcher/carepackage.... and who knows what attatchment they might have on it!

We all know that from level 25+ the XP gets harder to get and the money you earn just keeps stacking up, with nothing to spend it on (contracts always help, think I have done over 700 now).

So my advise is to buy all guns/killstreaks/attachments/perks with your extra cash, usually around level 25+

Killstreaks I use are..

Spyplane
Blackbird
Dogs

Also hit the double XP wknd HARD; an average game works out around 20k XP

I thought I'd share all my hints/tips now I've prestiged 15 times whistle

Another XP tip...

In your Challenges record- look at the very bottom titled 'Lifetime'

From my experience these gain you the largest amount of XP when fully completed- some of them give you 20K XP, and these stats increase through each prestige without getting wiped!!
SO if the double XP is this weekend coming- keep an eye out on challenges you may complete before then- and try and hold back from completing them until the double XP comences

E.g
I completed 299 games as the highest scorer before double XP started the other month, 300 would get me 20K XP, so I held back for a few days and in some cases ended matches early so I didn't complete that challenege- so that when I did complete it across the wknd, I got 40K XP for it + games bonuses etc.

Oh yeah my Kill streaks are spy plan, care package, chopper gunner.
With Hardline pro last night i changed an ammo crate to dogs & then the game after an RCXD to a gunship.
Regularly you can change it to something better!

I'm at prestige 10 currently, i tend to put in 8 hour stints to get the XP hehe.

I'm wise to the lifetime challenges, i've done the same as you a coupl of times but i'm out of the country half of the year so i miss a lot of double XP etc.

I don't know, i think i just get lucky with the sentry guns to be honest, i've had it before level 20 for at least 7 of the 10 prestiges i've done. Twice i've destroyed them as soon as i've bought the ghost perk. HC FFA is good for taking down spy planes and getting the 30 enemy killstreaks you need too.

I often end up using the guns on the ground more than the guns i start with! lol its a great way to try and exsperiment to see what works for you.

I also make a habbit of watching killcams to try and figure out what others are using for guns and perks.

Also another tips for points maximising, try using the lower kill streaks like Spy plane, Napalm, Attck chopper and try to get and use all these every single life. also try the SAM launcher. great way of killing the air support and you dont have to stop and shoot them down youeself. smile

I hardly ever pick up other guns but i think thats because i mainly play HC, two shots and the bh is down! hehe rather than a full clip in non-HC.

I don't watch kill cams but if i shoot someone and i'm camping (it's been known to happen) i'll always bring up the scoreboard and stay still. Then when i see they're alive again i'll move so when they come looking for me i can pop them off again.

How do you get more points for using the lower kill streaks?

Well for me its easier to get say 3-4 attack helicopters up then a single chopper gunner in a good game. And i tend to get more kills from the 3-4 attack choppers than a chopper gunner. but then im cr*p and die alot! lol

Also i like harasing the emermy and if you can keep piling kill streaks into them its annoys the hell out of them. They have just shot down a attack heli and you have another one up. only works well if most of the team dont have Gohst but thats the same for all kill streaks (appart form SR-71). Same gose for the napalm. Its brilliant if you are on a team that can keep spyu planes in the air, naplam coming in, and attack helis in the air the whole game. Really puts the presure on the other team.

Obviously if you are confident that you can get a chopper gunner then there is no point in doing this. but i might only get 1 every 10 games (told you i was cr*p lol).

Chris.

I average around 2 kills for each Cobra, 5 kills per Huey and 7/8 kills per Hind.
