Did they ever release a fix to the pitlane bug?

I was playing it over the weekend and was doing a sterling job of getting my Lotus into the top 3 at Turkey when I visited the pits and got held until every bloody car had driven past me.

On restarting the race I did the old trick of waiting a lap later (when the tyres were even more shagged) and it was ok but I finished 5th.

I thought they were supposed to be releasing a patch to fix this bug? It seems a bit of a pisstake that it still isn't fixed properly.

I though they released a patch but it still wasn't perfect, I could be wrong though - I never really play off-line smile.

There is a patch, which I have but the pitlane bug still exists along with countless others. Still a good game overall though.

The one thing that was never fixed was the tyre and fuel bug. The a.I cars are simply not affected by any tyre or fuel use except for punctures. This means to have a hope of winning you need to take the fuel and tyre wear off, which means you can still get puncture but it takes away the realism.

Isn't this the game where the AI post entirely unachievable lap times as they are not subjected to the same laws of physics as us mere mortals?

On some tracks I can beat them on the hardest setting (Pole and then a win), but at some (eg Monaco) I can't get anywhere near.

Yes, in qualifying the times the AI set are calculated using a football manager type formula and on a couple of tracks Catalunya for example it is not possible to drive the last chicane like the AI etc.. Now I have played it a bit more I am starting to notice the floors more - the game had a lot of potential but the coding is absolutely terrible, it was not ready for release. Now I am in a faster car -BMW Sauber I have found any race in the wet is basically a guaranteed win even with the assists fully off. Except the fuel level simulation since that doesn't work, oh and the AI don't seem keen on overtaking.

So to conclude please ignore my previous post - is a game that had potential but was totally fked up by codemasters.

I hope they can do a good job of F1 2011 but will wait for information from race department forum before buying it.

I got this, played it once, its never been out the box again, terrible game.
Im not rushing out to get 2011, until some real reviews are out there.

Great game, held back so many bugs. The developers have all but admitted this was rushed and 2011 will be much improved. I too will wait for the reviews before getting this one. I'm worried that they balls up the safety car, DRS, KERS by spending too much time sorting the 2010 bugs out!

I lost 4 seasons worth of career due to the corrupt save bug.
Killed the game for me.

I'm not getting it straight away this time.

Really enjoyed the game. Got about 10 races under my belt and the it lost the save.

Couldn't bring myself to grind through the game again

That's a shame was thinking about picking up a traded in copy for my 360 because I've read the online racing was fun with weather strategies, pitting etc. Didn't know it had so many problems, cheating AI I can put up with but corrupt saves send me into severe nerd rage.

None of these issues been patched then? Codies used to be the masters of racing games. I wish I could find my old ToCA 2 disc!

had the game for a while, was reasonably good apart from getting a puncture every 2 laps and as mentioned the pit lane bug, this was patched, the puncture problem was improved, but the pit lane issue was no better and the feed back for the wheel was terrible after the patch.

contacted the developers to ask if there was another patch to fix the patch !

they said there will be none.

so I traded it in with £5 at hmv for gt5 well happy.

as mentioned they said they rushed the release then wont rectify, then want you to buy another patched 2011 game,no thanks.

Its a thread revival!!

At Catalunya, here is the trick.

On your out lap, or the lap before your flyer, take the MotoGP route through the final corners. It wont mess up your next lap and you hit the last corner so much faster that you are about 0.5 faster down the straight. That makes up for SuperAI in the final chicane and you can get pole easier.
