I haven't bought a FIFA game since FIFA '08 although I enjoyed the 2011 demo.

I may purchase this one, it looks quite good.

Looking forward to this- a definite day one purchase. One or two really annoying aspects like the "jostling/wrestling" being triggered even when there's clear daylight between players, and the AI cheating by getting away with sly ankle-taps that are always called foul when your team do it.
Overall though, I think it's improved year on year, having overtaken PES at FIFA 09...
Also, need to stop forcing your virtual pro to play every game in carreer mode, even when completely fked... really hard to keep performances up when competing in league, two domestic cups and Europe...

Not bought FIFA since '10 as that was the last time Grimsby Town were included in the game. Since we're still a joke of a football club we wont be in 12 so I won't be buying it. Incidentally I'm doing *another* manager mode with Grimsby and I'm 1st in the championship.

I agree about the Fifa>Pes thing in 2009. Been a convert ever since and can't play PES these days. I always used to be a preacher for PES but Fifa has definitely upped their game.

You have touched on two points there, the AI cheating & Jostling. Is it only me that thinks that the AI can hold on to the ball longer than you can? I have Drogba up front and he cant hold the ball up for any decent amount of time without being dispossessed or falling over under the weight of the challenge. Up the other end then, I had Jermaine Defoe holding off a well positioned JT for around 3 seconds, right at the point where the tackle is about to be made,Defoe releases a perfectly timed, perfectly weighted ball despite being under immense pressure.

The other thing id like to see in FIFA12 is deflected shots, they happen every week in the premier league but I dont see any realistic ones on '11. Id love to see the ball skim a defenders leg before wrong footing the goalie etc. On '11 the Goaly either shows immense reactions and saves it, or the forcefield around the goal doesnt allow the ball to enter the net after a deflection.

OT: I will be buying 2012 and cant wait to do so!!

Looks as though deflections have been worked on by looking at that trailer!

Perhaps it'll be another of the player traits... Reserved for Frank Lampard? wink

I'll buy it on the day. Exactly the same as a few people above. I was a Fifa fan until about 2004 then over to PES and then a few years ago back to Fifa. Underwhelmed by the changes so far, but if I remember correctly, I always am until I play it for a while.

yes

I am always disappointed with the developments, a nice trick to highlight the work done and the underpinnings is to put in the previous FIFA a few weeks after playing the new one, the hard work quickly becomes clear.

Another thing that really needs work is the loading screens and the number of them. For example, why so many on load up? Why do I need to press start, click ok to sign in etc? Just let me switch on and load straight through, do you really need language selection EVERY TIME you switch it on? Also in Career Mode, click play match, then theres about 3-4 pages you have to click through before going to the arena? WHY? Surely it can be brought in to one screen i.e. kit selections, team selection, tactics, opposition team/tactics etc. Loading takes so long on FIFA I usually play FM with it...

yes Xbox was out yesterday. PS3 today, going to get it when I get home smile

It's meant to be a completely different beast from Fifa 11.

from, What i've heard from the xboxers the defending is shocking. They have really over complicated it.

Had a quick bash on the new pro evo demo and it is definitely much improved on the last one

Downloaded it yesterday. Not impressed. The ball just feels like a dead weight, a lot like PES.

The ste defending can be helped by changing your Defending to Legacy.

Didn't we try that with FIFA 11 & fail ha ha. When is the release date on this? Hopefully ASDA give a decent trade value for FIFA 11 again & get FIFA 12 for about £15 if I remember correctly.

After a good few games of this demo I think it's brilliant, hated it at first as I do with every new FIFA game but as you get the hang of it a wee bit it really comes into its own. The hardest thing to get used to is not having the pressing tackle when holding O (ps3).

Me and just about everyone I know hated FIFA 11 when it came out, it's naturally uninspiring being st at something but keep with it. This is going to be a peach!

Played the demo.
First opinion was what a load of st.
Played it a bit more and its 'alright' at best. Feels unnatural and robotic, Fifa 10 was a lot smoother and all round a better game.
11 was bad, this is worse.
