Get A Ferrari-458-In-A-Box For Your Xbox
Well, a Ferrari 458 steering wheel at least...
We know that a Ferrari 458 Italia is out of the price range of most, but you'll soon be able to have one occupying pride of place in your living room/games room/bedroom. Well, a steering wheel at least, courtesy of Thrustmaster.
With the blessing of Ferrari, Thrustmaster has created the first 458 Italia replica steering wheel for the Xbox 360, complete with a rubberized grip, built-in paddles and even the Manettino dial for changing certain game settings.
You also get a pedal kit with a long-stroke accelerator pedal, a resistant brake pedal and a wide footrest. Just like the real thing.
The new steering wheel goes on sale in the US in October, with an RRP of $180 (£110), though we don't know when it will reach these shores...

You would be better of giving your money away or setting fire to it. There is only one steering wheel worth bothering with and it isnt this one. The Fantec ones are head and shoulders above the competition.
Bit more money though aren't they? I'd quite like a G27 with the built in shift lights though.I do have a cheap thrustmaster wheel for F1 2010 (£30 in game), the button layout and feel of the wheel are very good but I wouldn't trust the build quality of this new wheel if it is anything like their other offerings - i'm on my second after only about 3 months and it is becoming unreliable with its inputs.

I have never 'got' these steering wheels for games.
Don't you have to bolt them to a table? Then you have to bolt the pedals to the floor, then you have to get a decent seat etc etc
+1 I had one and unless ou get the full monte(chair, bolted down etc), it doesn't work just on its own..Don't you have to bolt them to a table? Then you have to bolt the pedals to the floor, then you have to get a decent seat etc etc

I look like an idiot doing it but I clamp mine to the ironing board and put something heavy behind the pedals. At the moment its an air conditioning pump for my car in a box, although I need to find something else as I wouldn't mind getting it fitted in the car before summer is over!Don't you have to bolt them to a table? As for these wheels I hope they are better than the Ferrari 360 and Enzo wheels they did before. The build quality was terrible.

Maybe I'm missing the point but couldn't you just go for a drive - I mean what do you do when your mum wants her ironing board back?
And how much? I've bought cars for less, grumble....grumble....(go sit in corner).
I'd have much more fun playing PS3 with a steering wheel than I would going for a drive in a $180 car, frankly. And how much? I've bought cars for less, grumble....grumble....(go sit in corner).

I need to look at (sturdy) wheel stands......

These sort of things are all fun and games until you catch yourself using it in the reflection of the TV screen... that's when reality hits and you have to take yourself off to have a quiet word...
If that's actually the case, I pity you. Nothing wrong with video games, and a cheap steering wheel makes a racing game genuinely involving. This steering wheel, however - no 900° steering, only two pedals, no separate shifter, no force feedback? It's just a pretty version of any other £20 wheel. Fanatec or Logitech are the people you want to be going to for a wheel, unless you want to spend properly ridiculous amounts for Thrustmaster's T500.
